Soccer Ball Cupcakes

Soccer Ball Cupcakes

Kick up some fun with this soccer ball cupcake. Place it on top of a Sports Baking Cup or Party Green for a field of grass.


What you need:

Reynolds® Baking Cups (Green Party)
1 package (18.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
1 container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting
Black fondant
1 tube of black decorator icing

Instructions:

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. 

PLACE Reynolds Baking Cups in muffin pans; set aside. 

PREPARE cake mix following package directions for 24 cupcakes.  Spoon batter into baking cups. 

BAKE following package directions (17 to 23 minutes).  Cool.

SPREAD frosting onto cupcakes. 

MAKE soccer ball design

  1. Roll-out black fondant. 
  2. Cut one small hexagon shape and 5 small equilateral triangles.
  3. Place hexagon in center of cupcake.
  4. Place triangles at edges of cupcake pointing towards the hexagon points.
  5. Pipe lines to connect the hexagon corners to the triangle corners.

Reynolds Kitchens Tip: MAKE FROSTING SMOOTHER

Use a small spreader.  Dip the spreader into a bowl of warm water (keep it nearby).  Gently shake off the excess.  Frost as usual…or try a little more decorative swirl!
