Conversation Heart Cupcakes

Please your sweetie with these strawberry flavored, candy-inspired cupcakes.


What you need:

Reynolds® Baking Cups (Purple Party)
1 package (18.25 ounces) strawberry cake mix
1 container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting, separated
Yellow food coloring
Red food coloring

Instructions:

PREHEAT oven to 350°F. 

PLACE Reynolds Baking Cups in muffin pans; set aside. 

PREPARE cake mix following package directions for 24 cupcakes.  Spoon batter into baking cups. 

BAKE following package directions (18 to 22 minutes).  Cool.

TINT 1/4 cup frosting pink.  Tint remaining frosting yellow.

SPREAD yellow frosting onto cupcakes; set aside.

PIPE a large heart-shape onto each cupcake.  Add short messages to the center.  To look most authentic, be sure to use all capital letters.  Some good options for the space:

  2. BE MINE 
  3. HUG ME
  4. KISS ME

Reynolds Kitchens Tip: MAKE FROSTING SMOOTHER

Use a small spreader.  Dip the spreader into a bowl of warm water (keep it nearby).  Gently shake off the excess.  Frost as usual…or try a little more decorative swirl!

Reynolds Kitchens Tip: LESS BATTER THAN MUFFIN CUPS

Fill the empty ones half full with water so that all of the cups will bake more evenly.
