Heart-Shaped Cupcakes


What you need:

24 Reynolds® Baked for You™ Shaped Baking Cups (Hearts)
1  package (18.25 ounces) any flavor cake mix
1  container (16 oz.) ready-to-spread white frosting
Red food coloring
24 large red gumdrops
Red sugar crystals
1 small star decorating tip
Optional: 1 1-1/2 inch heart-shaped cookie cutter

Instructions:

PREHEAT oven to 350°F.  Place Reynolds Baked for You Heart Shaped Baking Cups on 2 cookie sheets with sides; set aside. 

PREPARE cake mix following package directions for 24 cupcakes.  Spoon cake batter into baking cups. 

BAKE 20 to 25 minutes.  Cool.

TINT about 1 cup of frosting pink; cover and set aside. 

SPREAD the top of each cupcake with white frosting; smooth frosting with a warm knife. 

MAKE heart decorations

  1. Flatten gumdrops with a rolling pin.
  2. Roll flattened gumdrops in red sugar crystals.
  3. Cut heart shapes using a knife or 1-1/2 inch heart shaped cookie cutter.
  4. Place gumdrop hearts on top of cupcakes.
  5. Pipe pink dots of frosting around edge of cupcakes with a small star tip.
