Hello, Cupcake! Cutie Pie Pictogram


What you need:

12 cupcakes in Reynolds® Baking Cups (Red & Pink Foil, Pink Damask Baked for You)
2 cans (16 oz. each) vanilla frosting
Yellow and green food coloring
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
5 pink sour jelly rings
1/2 cup red, pink and white sprinkles
4 white gum balls
1 teaspoon light corn syrup
2 tablespoons white non-pareil sprinkles
4 pink wafer candies, Smarties®
4 pink candy-coated licorice pastels Jelly Belly® or Good & Plenty®
3/4 cup red jelly beans 

Instructions:

DIVIDE frosting between 3 bowls. Leave one bowl white, tint one bowl beige with a few drops of yellow food coloring and the cocoa powder, and tint the third bowl bright green with the green food coloring.

PREPARE separate freezer weight resealable bags with beige and green frostings

MAKE the Q

  1. Cut one of the sour rings into four 1 inch pieces to make the tail piece of the Q. Cut one side of the remaining 4 sour rings and attach the cut piece to make the letter Q.
  2. Spread the top of 4 cupcakes with white frosting and make smooth.
  3. Place the sprinkles in a shallow bowl. Press the sides of the frosted cupcakes into the sprinkles to coat.
  4. Place the Q sour candy on top of the cupcakes.

MAKE the Tee

  1. Snip a small corner (1/8 inch) from the bag with green frosting. Starting on the outer edge of a cupcake pipe the grass with a squeeze -release- pull action. Continue to cover the top of 4 of the cupcakes completely.
  2. Place the white non pareils in a small shallow bowl. Coat the gum balls in the corn syrup and drop into the white sprinkles ot coat evenly.
  3. Insert candy-coated licorice pastel into the top of the cupcake. Add a dot of vanilla frosting on top and attach the Smartie to make the tee. Add a dot of vanilla frosting on top of the Smartie and attach the coated gum ball to secure.
  4. Continue with the remaining 3 cupcakes.

MAKE the Pie

  1. Snip a small corner (1/8 inch) from bag with beige frosting. Pipe enough frosting on top of a cupcake to cover in a thin layer.
  2. Arrange the red jellybean close together all over the top of the cupcake. Repeat with the remaining 3 cupcakes and jellybeans.
  3. Pipe 4 or 5 lines across top of cupcake about 1/2 inch apart. Pipe 4 or 5 lines, on the diagonal. Pipe a beaded edge around the top of the cupcake.
  4. Repeat with the the remaining cupcakes.

Makes 12 cupcakes, or 4 sweet messages
